ⓘ Some links are affiliate links: a purchase may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. It never decides what we pick or how we rank it. Prices shown may have changed since they were checked.

Before you buy
Water resistance numbers are test pressures, not depths: 50 m is fine for swimming, 100 m for snorkelling, and you want 200 m with a screw-down crown for diving (ISO 6425 is the dive-watch standard). Rinse a watch in fresh water after the sea or a chlorinated pool, and have the seals checked when the battery or service is done. A leather strap and a diver don't mix: use rubber, nylon or the bracelet.
How we choose

We pick from what UK shops actually sell, compare the makers' published specs (movement, size, water resistance, glass) and check UK prices and price history through the day. We don't have every watch in hand: a pick is marked hands-on only when we have worn it. Commissions never change a pick or its place on the list. Read our full methodology →
