Best Omega alternatives in the UK (2026)
Our top Omega alternative is the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SSC915: a solar chronograph with a clean, readable dial that gives you much of the Speedmaster's appeal at a fraction of the cost. The runner-up is the Tissot Seastar 1000, a Swiss 300 m dive watch from the same group that owns Omega, in the spirit of the Seamaster. This page is for anyone who loves the Speedmaster or Seamaster but doesn't want to spend thousands. We compared Seiko, Tissot and Bulova watches on movement, water resistance, finish and how well they deliver the Omega experience.

Before you buy
Speedmaster vs Seamaster.
Omega's two famous lines are the Speedmaster, the chronograph worn on the Moon, and the Seamaster, the dive watch linked to James Bond. The watches here split along the same lines: chronographs for the Speedmaster, divers for the Seamaster. Omega also makes the Constellation and De Ville lines, but these two are the ones most people mean. Both are mechanical and cost many times the watches here.
Speedmaster alternatives.
The Seiko Speedtimer is a solar chronograph with a crisp dial and design based on Seiko's own chronograph heritage. The Bulova Lunar Pilot is based on the Bulova chronograph that Apollo 15 commander Dave Scott wore on the Moon after his Omega's crystal came off. Both are quartz-based, which keeps them affordable and accurate. Neither is a copy of the Speedmaster; they share its purpose and some of its space-age story.
Seamaster alternatives.
The Tissot Seastar 1000 is rated to 300 m, with a unidirectional bezel and sapphire crystal, and comes in quartz and Powermatic 80 automatic versions. Tissot and Omega are both owned by the Swatch Group, so the Seastar shares some of the same engineering background at a lower level. The Powermatic 80 version runs for about 80 hours off the wrist and is the closest in spirit to a mechanical Seamaster.
Bulova Lunar Pilot.
It uses a high-frequency quartz movement, which is more accurate than standard quartz and gives a smooth-sweeping seconds hand. It's large and thick (around 43 to 45 mm), so check the size. The 98K112 and 96B251 versions differ mainly in strap and dial.
Tissot Seastar 1000 Chronograph.
A quartz chronograph with Seamaster-like style, 300 m water resistance and 45.5 mm case. It combines the dive and chronograph looks, and suits people who want a large, sporty Swiss watch.
Quartz vs mechanical.
Omega's Speedmasters and Seamasters are mechanical, many with Master Chronometer certification. The alternatives here are mostly quartz or solar, plus the Tissot Seastar Powermatic 80. That keeps cost and servicing down, but they don't offer the same mechanical craftsmanship. For many people, the quartz alternatives make more sense for daily wear: they're thinner, more accurate and need little attention. If mechanical craftsmanship is the appeal, save for an Omega or look at the Tissot Seastar Powermatic 80.
Resale and value.
Omega watches hold value better than most, though less than Rolex. The alternatives here lose value once bought. If you want an Omega for its history and craftsmanship, these won't replace it; if you want the look and use, they do well.
Size.
Omega's Speedmaster Professional is 42 mm; the Seamaster Diver 300M is 42 mm. The Speedtimer is around 39 to 42 mm, the Lunar Pilot larger, and the Seastar 1000 around 40 to 45.5 mm. Compare with what you already wear. Thickness matters too: the Lunar Pilot and Seastar Chronograph are thick watches that sit high on the wrist.
Avoid fakes.
Fake Omegas are common. Buy only from authorised dealers or reputable pre-owned dealers. The watches here are sold by authorised UK retailers with full warranties. A genuine Omega offered far below market price is almost certainly fake or stolen.
We haven't worn every watch here, and none is meant to imitate an Omega. We compared what UK shops sell by the makers' published specs: movement, chronograph or dive function, water resistance, crystal and size, and chose watches that share the purpose of the Speedmaster and Seamaster. UK prices and stock are tracked through the day. Read our full methodology →
